Psalm 23:4 (NCV) — 4 Even if I walk through a very dark valley, 

I will not be afraid, because you are with me. 

Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me.

Colossians 3:10 (NCV) — 10 You have begun to live the new life, 

in which you are being made new and are becoming like the One who made you. 

This new life brings you the true knowledge of God.

Colossians 3:12 (NCV) — 12 God has chosen you and made you his holy people. 

He loves you. 

So you should always clothe yourselves 

with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Praise God that His Wisdom in our ongoing spiritual formation

is far greater than what we might choose ...

comfort over character.
