Psalm 147:1 (NRSV)  Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God;
for he is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting.

Praising the Lord is the highest exercise of your faculties.
He is worthy of praise, and you should praise Him whether or not
you think your praise is accomplishing anything in your life.
However, there are some blessings that come to those who worship Him in truth.
Praise brings spiritual beauty to God’s people—it builds His Work and unifies His People—
it heals the inner person and lifts the fallen. Praise is good medicine!
Praise makes God’s world real and personal to you, even the storms; and
it is great protection against the enemy.
Praise pleases the Lord and enables Him to work in your life.
When you sincerely praise Him, the blessing will come.
Praise changes things—and people.

In case you're in a place where the future looks uncertain—where God seems to be doing something new and yet it's hard to let go of the old—He knows your way.
He is paving out new roads, so you can walk there in faith, believing He is right with you. Don't ever think you have been forgotten or left on your own.
Don't ever believe the lie that the struggles or hard circumstances you've faced have messed up your whole future, or disqualified you from God's Purposes and Plans.
He is a God Who redeems, restores and Who makes all things new.
He's the One Who excels at bringing beauty from the broken and
He can do in just one moment what would take us years to work out on our own.
Trust Him in this new year ahead, and know that He's fighting for you
and won't let you go.

God bless you as you go into 2018 with His Joy in your heart!

Psalm 146:1–2 (NRSV) — 1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God all my life long.

Praise is an evidence of life
not just physical life, but the life of God in the heart.
Praise is an encouragement to faith
when you major on praise, your faith will grow.
Praise is an encouragement to hope—
when your hope is in the Lord, you can praise Him no matter what the circumstances may be.
Faith is the upward look, and hope is the forward look.
Praise is an encouragement to love
your love for God and others, and God’s love for you.
Life, faith, hope, and love—
all are bound up in the experience of praise.

Psalm 145:1–3 (NRSV) I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you, and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable.

His Greatness is unsearchable!
The theme of this Psalm is the greatness of the Lord.
The psalmist is consumed with a holy determination to extol, bless and praise
his God and King both in time—every day—and in eternity—forever and ever. The gist of his endless song is that God is Great
that His Greatness is worthy of great praise, and
 that His Greatness is infinite in its dimensions.
Unsearchable?
At least we have started looking!! 😊

Psalm 36:9 (NRSV)  For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ ”
John 8:12 (NRSV)  Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

Psalm 31:16 (NRSV) Let your face shine upon your servant;

Oh Lord, you're beautiful,
Your face is all I seek,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

Oh Lord, you're beautiful,
Your face is all I seek,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

Our beloved Lord Jesus saves us in His Steadfast Love—
His Grace abounds to me.

Psalm 30:11–12 (NRSV)  You have turned my mourning into dancing;
you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 so that my soul may praise you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

With our focus on our Loving Father our sorrow turns to dance
and our drab rags become joyful garments.
How can we not praise Him? How can we be silent?
My thanks and praise is from now until forever!

Psalm 29:3–4 (NRSV) — 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

Isn’t it amazing that the Voice of the Lord can one moment be a whisper
in our hearts and the next a powerful Voice
that makes the lightning flash and shakes the desert?
No matter how we hear His Voice—we simply cry out Glory in adoration of Him!

Psalm 27:14 (NRSV) — 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage;

Make up you own tune and sense your strength and courage rise as you sing!

Psalm 23 (The Message) — 1 God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. 2 You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. 3 True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. 4 Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. 5 You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. 6 Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.

Psalm 12:6 (NRSV)
The promises of the Lord are promises that are pure,
silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.

God’s Word is pure, proved and preserved and you can depend upon it.
Much of the words we hear in the world are cheap and temporary
whereas God’s Word is valuable and lasting.
May your words be influenced by His Word and your words made valuable in His Sight.
Jeremiah 15:19 (GW) — 19 This is what the Lord says: … … If you will speak what is worthwhile and not what is worthless, you will stand in my presence. … …

O Lord! How Majestic is Your Name!

Psalm 4:8 (NRSV) I will both lie down and sleep in peace;

Today Dailies Blogspot begins a new series focusing on one or two lines from the Psalms of encouragement! The Psalms address our emotions attached to the ups and downs of life and because God is with us through these we have the privilege of always—well usually—
being filled with His Joy.
The first Daily is quite long … the rest will resume normal format! Be blessed! Amen.

Psalm 3:3 (NRSV) But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory,
and the one who lifts up my head.
Once upon a time I went through a low season of breast cancer treatment.
This psalm and the Jars of Clay song lifted my head and my spirits every day.
Just as it does today in a new season of ‘low’.

Give to the wind your fear
Hope and be undismayed
God hears your sighs and counts your tears
God will lift up
God will lift up
Lift up your head

[Chorus]
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
He will lift up, lift up your head

Leave to His sovereign way
To choose and to command
Then shall we wandering on His way
Know how wise and how strong
How wise and how strong

[Chorus]

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears the way
Wait because in His time, so shall this night
Soon end in joy,
Soon end in joy
Soon end in joy,
Soon end in joy.

[Chorus]
