The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Prayer by Debbie McDaniel:
Dear God,
Thank You for the gift of Jesus! We celebrate the treasure of all that He is in our lives,
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace,
and so much more.
We recognize His Powerful Presence over all,
and we worship Him as King of kings and Lord and lords.

We thank You that You made a way for us to be set free
through the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf.
Thank You for giving us the gift of eternal life, to all that have believed in Your Name.
We bring to You today, every need and concern that we have,
every fear and pain of loss we’ve experienced this year.
We ask for Your Healing and Grace,
for Your Strength and Your Peace to fill us afresh.

We draw near to You, and thank You that You are close.
Our Immanuel…God with us …
we pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Philippians 2:12 (NRSV) — 12 Therefore, my beloved,... ...
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Philippians 2:12 (The Message) — 12 What I’m getting at, friends,
is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. ... ...
Be energetic in your life of salvation,
reverent and sensitive before God.

Philippians 2:15 (NCV) — 15 Then you will be innocent and without any wrong.
You will be God’s children without fault.
But you are living with crooked and mean people all around you,
among whom you shine like stars in the dark world.

Some of us know why we are where we are.
Some of us are still puzzled by our circumstances.
Whatever the situation
we trust our Gracious God
Who loves us ...
no matter what!
And therefore we can SHINE!

for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.

therefore we CAN watch and wait for it to be revealed.
However, in the meantime of practicing patient-waiting,
we keep our heart and mind focused on Him
counting our every daily blessing
and rejoicing in Him ...
for He is with us every step of the way!
Hallelujah!

Matthew 21:21 (NLT) — 21 Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth,
if you have faith and don’t doubt,
you can do things like this and much more.
You can even say to this mountain,
‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’
and it will happen.
Matthew 21:21 (The Message) — 21 But Jesus was matter-of-fact:
“Yes—and if you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God,
you’ll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree,
but also triumph over huge obstacles.
This mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘Go jump in the lake,’
and it will jump.

James 1:6 (NLT) — 6 But when you ask him,
be sure that your faith is in God alone.
Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea
that is blown and tossed by the wind.

John 10:10 (NRSV) — 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

The enemy of our souls comes
to rob, kill and plant seeds of doubt.
Be alert to his wicked schemes.
Eradicate doubt through the power of faith
in Jesus Christ our Lord!
Amen.

Romans 8:2 (The Message) — 2 A new power is in operation.

through the Mighty Power of Jesus Christ!
Run in the way of His Commandments!
Stay the course He has laid out for you!

Psalm 103:5 (NLT) — 5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
Psalm 103:5 (The Message) — 5 He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.
He renews your youth—

Dear Jesus!
Thank You for all the good things
You have poured into my life.
Thank You that I am always young
in Your Presence.
Thank You for those things
that I find difficult to thank You for ...
transform my thinking to see Your Plan and Purpose
in the ALL of my life.
Amen.

James 4:7 (NRSV) — 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 (NCV) — 7 So give yourselves completely to God.
Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you.
James 4:7 (The Message) — 7 So let God work his will in you.
Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.

2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NRSV) — 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human,
but they have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We destroy arguments
5 and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God,
and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NCV) — 4 We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy
the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments
5 and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God.
We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (The Message) — 4 The tools of our trade aren’t for
marketing or manipulation, ...
5 We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies,
tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God,
fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse
into the structure of life shaped by Christ.

Take every thought captive to obey Christ!
This requires that we assess our doubts and fears
and dismiss them with His Word.
This requires that we be on the alert
to the schemes of the evil one.
Diligently practice thought-assessment today
and root out that wicked scheme
that disrupts and distorts
your thought-life.
Be ever on the alert!

Job 33:28 (NRSV) — 28 He has redeemed my soul from going down to the Pit,
and my life shall see the light.’
Job 33:28 (The Message) — 28 But God stepped in and saved me from certain death.
I’m alive again!
Once more I see the light!’
Job 33:28 (NLT) — 28 God rescued me from the grave,
and now my life is filled with light.’

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NRSV) — 18 And all of us, with unveiled faces,
seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror,
are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another;
for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (The Message) — 18 All of us! Nothing between us and God,
our faces shining with the brightness of his face.
And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah,
our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful
as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Therein lies the nature of our trials, transformations and our Treasure!
Being transformed into His Image
so that our faces shine with the brightness of His Face!
It might be a hard road now
but it is certainly worth traveling it!

Isaiah 43:19 (NRSV) — 19 I am about to do a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I
will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19 (The Message) — 19 Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is!
I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.

Matthew 9:17 (NRSV) — 17 Neither is new wine put into old wineskins;
otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed;
but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.”
Matthew 9:17 (NLT) — 17 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins.
New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”

Romans 8:11 (NRSV) — 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead
dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead
will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you.
Romans 8:11 (The Message) — 11 It stands to reason, doesn’t it,
that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life,
he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus,
bringing you alive to himself?
When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus),
you are delivered from that dead life.
With his Spirit living in you,
your body will be as alive as Christ’s!

We know that all things work together for good
for those who love our Lord!
We know that nothing in God's economy is wasted!
Allow Him to reveal to you this day
the wondrous things he is doing with your life
to bring about His Plan and Purposes
that will give glory to His Precious Name!
