a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psalm 51:17 (The Message) — 17 I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered.
Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.
Isaiah 42:3 (NRSV) — 3 a bruised reed he will not break,
and a dimly burning wick he will not quench;
he will faithfully bring forth justice.
Isaiah 42:3 (NLT) — 3 He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle.
He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.
Isaiah 42:3 (The Message) — 3 He won’t brush aside the bruised
and the hurt and he won’t disregard the small and insignificant,
but he’ll steadily and firmly set things right.
Malachi 4:2 (NRSV) — 2 But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise,
with healing in its wings.
You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
Malachi 4:2 (The Message) — 2 But for you, sunrise!
The sun of righteousness will dawn on those who honor my name,
healing radiating from its wings.
You will be bursting with energy,
like colts frisky and frolicking.
When God mends the broken
He restores you magnificently
so that all who see you may know
His Love and His Glory.
