1. The Parable of the True Vine
John 15:1–16 (NRSV) — 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-grower.

Andrew Murray wrote on this parable to encourage believers to draw nearer to Jesus.
He writes:
The nearness, the all-sufficiency, the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus,
the naturalness, the fruitfulness of a life of faith, are so revealed,
that it is as if one could with confidence say—
Let the parable enter into the heart, and all will be right.

It is my prayer, that over the next few weeks, this parable will so enter our hearts and make ALL things well with us. Jesus is the True Vine. God is the Vine-grower. We are the branches. Let us begin our explorations by seeing our place in the parable with the eyes of our hearts—He is the True Vine—our Father is the Vine-grower.
