Meditations—points
to ponder
The great need you and I have, the greatest
need of humanity in general,
is renovation of the heart. That spiritual place
within us from which outlook,
choices and actions come has been formed by a
world-denying God.
It must be
transformed.
Indeed the only hope for humanity lies in the fact that,
just
as our spirit has been formed, so also it can be transformed.
For all our advances in scientific
knowledge, science tells us virtually nothing
about the inner life of the human
being.
Science misses the heart, because when it goes beyond the measurable
it
ceases to be science. No matter what theories we might hold
the bottom line
is that the spiritual simply IS our
life.
If we want to live fully we must live with Him at that interior level
and
He gives this life as a gift.
The spiritual renovation, the spirituality which
comes from Jesus
is nothing less than an
invasion of natural human reality
by the supernatural life of God.

8:5 (NRSV) — 5 For
those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the
flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things
of the Spirit.
