Jehovah Rapha: God my Healer

Exodus 15:26 (NRSV) He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice 

of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, 

and give heed to his commandments and keep all his statutes,

I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians; 

for I am the Lord who heals you.”

Exodus 15:26b (The Message)  … I am God your healer.”

Jehovah Rapha is our God Who heals both individuals and nations. 

He restores that which is broken and repairs that which needs reconstruction. 

He is the Mender of broken hearts. 

His Word always lays out the ‘conditions’ of His Blessings 

toward us and He will often test us in everyday circumstances 

to determine the level of our willing obedience to Him. 

Yes! He is able to change our circumstances 

but He would rather change us in the process! 

Jehovah Rapha will always bring us to a refreshing oasis from time to time

 but it is always simply a ‘stop along the Way’ (Psalm 23). 

However, we do need to remember that we are pilgrims not residents!

Jehovah Rapha heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3);

Jehovah Rapha heals the broken-hearted and binds their wounds (Psalm 147:3)

Like Aeneas we can hear Jehovah Rapha say Jesus Christ heals you! (Acts 9:34)

Be healed and rejoice in Jesus’ Name this day. Amen.
