Seal

5/10 in Spiritual Symbols Series
2 Corinthians 1:21–22 (NLT) — 21 It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us,
22 and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit
in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
God has established us in the faith, confirming us IN Christ
by the ministry of the Word of God.
He has anointed us with His Holy Spirit—qualifying, empowering, and teaching us.
He has sealed us and given us His Holy Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
This seal is the mark of ownership and security.
God’s Holy Spirit indwelling the believer is the mark that we now belong to God
and that we are eternally secure. The seal is invisible.
People do not know that we are Christians by some badge we wear,
but only by the evidences of a Spirit-filled life.
God’s Holy Spirit in our hearts is a guarantee/down payment
in pledge that the full inheritance of God will follow.
When God saves us, He gives us His indwelling Holy Spirit.
The same kind of blessings which the Holy Spirit makes real in our lives today
will be ours in full measure in a day yet future.
