Over the next few weeks Dailies will present short snippets from transformational books that have impacted my life over recent years. Most of the quotes are from chapter one of each book … the carrot on a stick to inspire you to read the rest of the book! I have added a Scripture verse for you to ponder. Let us begin this series by praying a prayer penned by Stasi Eldredge …

Papa God! Thank You for surrounding me with Your Grace, Mercy and Loving-Kindness this day. Thank You for holding gently any places in me that are still trembling and weak.
I breathe in Your Goodness and Strength, Your Faith, Your Hope and Your Love so that my heart rises in passionate response to Your Unrelenting Purposes of restoration!

Meditations—points to ponder

Q: Why haven’t I been able to maintain lasting change in myself?
Why don’t I have victory here in my life?
Sometimes we feel hopeless to ever change simply because our personal history
is filled with our failed attempts to change. However, God knows—
He has not turned His Face away.
The very fact that we long for the change as we do is a sign that we are meant to have it. Our very dissatisfaction with our weaknesses and struggles simply point to the reality that continuing to live in them is not our destiny.

Psalm 139:1–3 (NRSV) — 1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. 3 You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
