Meditations—points
to ponder
In clarifying what God’s intentions are for
mankind we discover that it is the healing of the whole man … this is the
purpose of God in restoring the creation He made.
That is what Christianity is supposed to do to a person—restore him as
a human being.
From the very beginning, God decided to shape our lives
along a certain line.
The intended shape of our existence is made clear in the
Person of Jesus.
It is a massive undertaking and you will notice that it
requires restoration …
the Son stands
first in the line of humanity He restored.
Thus the healing of the whole man is the purpose of Christianity.

Romans 8:29–30 (NLT) — 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them
to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many
brothers and sisters. 30 And having
chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave
them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave
them his glory.
