Romans 12:2 (NRSV) — 2 Do not be conformed to this world, 

but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, 

so that you may discern what is the will of God—

what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2 (The Message) — 2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture 

that you fit into it without even thinking. 

Instead, fix your attention on God. 

You’ll be changed from the inside out. 

Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. 

Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, 

God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Colossians 2:10 (NRSV) — 10 and you have come to fullness in him, 

who is the head of every ruler and authority.

Colossians 2:10 (The Message) — 10 When you come to him, 

that fullness comes together for you, too. 

His power extends over everything.
