Psalm 23:1–3 (NRSV) — 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. 

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; 

he leads me beside still waters; 

3 he restores my soul. 

He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.

2 Corinthians 5:17–18 (NRSV) — 17 So if anyone is in Christ, 

there is a new creation: 

everything old has passed away; 

see, everything has become new! 

18 All this is from God, 

who reconciled us to himself through Christ, 

and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;

With our eyes joyfully focused on Jesus

we are empowered to live peacefully

as new creations IN Him and

thus to engage in the ministry of reconciliation

for which we have been equipped!
